General Motors recently announced that it will produce more 2023 Lyriq cars than its initial plans. The initial plan was to make 3200 versions of the Cadillac Lyriq crossover. However, the strong demand for this Cadillac meant that GM would produce up to 25,000 units. GM has already started accepting pre-orders for the car's debut edition. It won't be long before the company opens client orders for regular production of the battery-electric crossover. Barra acknowledged that the impressive Cadillac Lyriq CUV will soon lead the way among Ultium-based EVs in an open letter to GM investors.
The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq introduces a new era of luxury and technology among GM's electric vehicles. This vehicle will flaunt the brand's next-generation styling. GM will use lighting choreography to emphasize the signature vertical lighting. Another prominent feature of the 2023 Cadillac will be its distinctive 'black crystal' grille. Sources indicate that the Lyriq will be slightly larger than the Cadillac XT5. Besides, this luxury car will come with a profile that reminisces a shooting brake.
Processing Plant Investments in the 2023 Lyriq
The GM Spring Hill Assembly plant, located south of Nashville, will base the 2013 Cadillac Lyriq production. GM has already invested close to $2billion in this plant to boost the production of electric vehicles. GM is looking to build on the multiple EV manufacturing sites it has already set up with this plant. The Orion Assembly in Orion Township, Michigan, and the Factor Zero plant in Detroit complete the list of current GM EV plants.
Colors and Wheel Options
You will find two exterior colors during the launch, Stellar Black Metallic and Satin Steel Metallic. For the interior, you will only choose from Noir and Sky Cool Gray.
The electric crossover will also be available with two-wheel choices. GM intends to uphold its policy of limiting options with the limited range of wheels. If you prefer the standard wheel, then you'll make do with the 20-inch split six-spoke alloy. This wheel comes complete with Gloss Black aero inserts and Diamond Cut Dark Android finish.
The other wheel option will be a 22-inch dynamic split-spoke reserve rim alloy in a Polished Gloss Black Finish. The Cadillac's wheels will both have an eccentric design.
Luxury Interior
GM has also indicated that the Lyric will come with a clean and uncomplicated interior. The Cadillac's interior will emphasize secondary and tertiary design elements. The intricate laser-etched patterns through wood over metal décor will represent a first in Cadillacs' productions.
The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq also features a 33-inch diagonal, curved, advanced LED screen. The rest of the components have artful incorporations with blurring separation lines. Cadillac's next-generation Active Noise Cancellation system and AKG audio system with headrest speakers feature among the car's highlights.
Top Performance
Car enthusiasts can get the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq in the Debut Edition trim. This trim level comes with a 12-module, 100.4kWh Ultium battery pack that powers the single rear-mounted electric motor. With this motor, drivers will get approximately 340 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque. This robust setup promises to deliver a GM-estimated driving range of 300 miles while on a full charge.
While speaking during the EV's world debut, Rory Harvey did not deny the possibility of a high-performance variant. He mentioned that sporty variants had been part of GM's heritage, and they'll evaluate its potential in the future.
