The Cadillac Optiq, a brand-new entry into the luxury EV segment, has just been announced. It's slightly smaller than the Cadillac Lyriq SUV, but it should have just as many useful features inside. At Sunset Cadillac of Bradenton, we're here to help you learn all about each piece of cutting-edge technology that these vehicles have to offer. Here are all the details we know about the Cadillac Optiq, the latest all-electric SUV from one of America's favorite luxury automakers.

The Latest Technology from Cadillac

So far, Cadillac hasn't released any details about what technology the upcoming Optiq SUV might have. We're anticipating a 33-inch curved LED display capable of 9k resolution, similar to the one found inside the Cadillac Lyriq. An ambient lighting system is also standard on this larger SUV, featuring an LED 26-color selection toggle in higher trims. The optional AKG Studio 19-speaker stereo system enhances your favorite driving soundtracks with Surround Technology and Adaptive Volume settings. Active Noise Cancellation mutes all road noise and vibration that might otherwise detract from listening to quiet songs or podcasts.

The Cadillac Optiq should also have Super Cruise, an award-winning self-driving software with one of the highest levels of automation in the industry. With Super Cruise activated, you can safely take your hands off the wheel while the car is in motion. This system will automatically handle acceleration and deceleration, plus it's paired with an array of LIDAR sensors and cameras to allow for safe maneuvers even on short notice. Some models with Super Cruise also feature Lane Change on Demand, which automatically shifts your vehicle into the opposite lane if there's an open gap.

Other advanced safety features on the Cadillac Optiq may include:

Teen Driver

With Teen Driver, certain safety features like forward collision warning and lane-changing assist functions can't be deactivated. You can also use this function to set speed limits, promoting mindfulness for young drivers at the wheel. Teen Driver will also mute the audio system until both front-seat passengers have fastened their seatbelts.

HD Rear Vision Camera

This is a high-resolution monitor conveniently located on your vehicle's interior rearview mirror. This feature is often paired with Rear Park Assist to alert you if there are any objects behind your vehicle while you're in Reverse.

Standard and Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking

Standard automatic emergency brings your vehicle to a complete stop faster if you encounter an oncoming obstacle. This function operates at speeds above 5 mph, while the Enhanced version works at any speed above 2 mph. Extra settings for emergency intersection braking, as well as front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, may also be available for your Cadillac.

 Powertrain Options

We can safely assume that the Cadillac Optiq will ride on GM's patented Ultium Battery Platform, which promises a near-approximate 50/50 weight distribution. This translates into sporty handling to delight drivers. We also expect that it will have a dual-motor AWD configuration for added capability.

The Cadillac Optiq looks roughly the same size as the Chevy Equinox EV, which is the closest to being the Optiq's non-luxury counterpart. If their specs are similar, the Optiq could have anywhere between 210-290 hp. Like the Equinox EV, the Optiq may also get between 250-300 miles of range.
